Art Bank Photography describes itself as "a basic site offering photographic prints for sale, in a variety of sizes, to home owners and interior designers". These images are not mass-produced, but are printed to order and cannot be found anywhere else. Constantly growing, with images added and replaced at regular intervals, the site features an individual and eclectic collection of images gathered from our everyday world - "sometimes sensitive, sometimes 'in your face', but always reflecting the design found outside in the everyday in a way that it can be appreciated indoors". The information is simply stated, and all Goréja's works until 2000 are included. The design of the site again is simple, with good navigation, and no eye-catching effects to detract from the artist's paintings; his photograph on most of the pages adds a personal touch to the site. The official Phil Artez website offers some stunning black and white photographs for sale, including "ballet, statues, journeys, portraits, fine art nudes, Venice Carnival, factory and research works". The site itself is not quite as successful - the layout of the site feels rather cluttered in parts, and the small size of most of the images makes it difficult to fully appreciate their quality and detail. According to the site, "Decorart was created with the intention to show you how a picture will look in an environment similar to that of your home". The premise is certainly very clever, and a highly inventive use of Flash technology - usually, visitors can select from a number of different virtual rooms, then try out various paintings, which miraculously fill the space on the wall. It is particularly useful in giving a sense of scale - on the web it is often difficult to appreciate how large an artwork is, and whether it might work in the space available. All the featured paintings, of course, may then be purchased from the gallery if desired. Unfortunately, however, the "showroom was empty" when Sapling last visited - hopefully this will be rectified soon. The site is originally in Spanish, but translations are provided in English, French and German. [GAS, 24 Aug 2006].

Based in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, Gallery 54 sees the display of original artwork as "commodity rather than 'high culture'", arguing that "art production has been hijacked by the high minded for far too long by people who are in denial about the decorative function of art, who live in the marble temple of art as religion with their little band of disciples". On this basis, the site is described as "simply a collection of art done by artists who enjoy what they are doing and who produce work in faith that the art market will one day come into existence". Lugansk Art Gallery is currently one of the largest Ukrainian galleries dealing with online sales of "magnificent, high-quality artworks created by professional Ukrainian and international artists". According to the Gallery's site, its core business is selling artworks and creating commission artworks (commission portraits, commission paintings, copies of paintings, commission sculpture and various commission handcrafts) - all works by its artists are original, and are supplied with an Originality Certificate. The Gallery also arranges and conducts personal and group exhibitions, as well as taking part in the development of different art projects and in various culture events both in Ukraine and abroad. The Lugansk site is well-designed, and available in a multitude of languages, including English. The interface is excellent - users can browse by artist, style, genre, medium, material, price or size, with each artwork illustrated using good quality images of the painting in its entirety as well as an actual-size detail - if a piece of work then takes your fancy, the site also offers online ordering and worldwide delivery. With the added attraction of a very good Art Directory, featuring more than 600 links to art and culture-related resources, the Lugansk Art Gallery has managed to create a site that is rich, interesting and useful. Paintings of the Third Millenium (or Pinturas del Tercer Milenio in Spanish) is a great personal site, set up by the Argentinian artist Camilo Villanueva to showcase and sell his own paintings. The home page is a shock to the system with its splashes of colour, reflecting Villanueva's highly abstract, bold and visually arresting work. The site includes a good selection of paintings for sale and a smaller gallery of other works. There is also a short biography of Villanueva, with some extremely complementary critical quotes. For example, one critic writes, "one can feel part of his paintings and through them you can have access to the cosmic and change your soul". Because the site is limited in size it is easy to navigate through, and it is well worth a visit, just to experience the 'energy, love, and harmony' of the work - surely a good enough reason for anyone.
