He now lives in Gateshead, UK, and is currently writing up his PhD in the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape at the Newcastle University. His thesis concerns the conservation and re-use of historic buildings, using two schemes with Newcastle's Grainger Town as detailed building case studies. Alongside his doctoral research, Graham has worked as a Research Associate in both the Centre for Public Policy (CPP) and the Centre for Northern Studies (CNS) at Northumbria University. Since November 2006 he has been employed as a Senior Research Executive at Marketwise Strategies, an independent market research consultancy in Newcastle, where he has carried out desk research, data analysis and reporting for many major qualitative and quantitative research projects. Graham has also undertaken web-based consultancy work for Northern Architecture, and has taught on undergraduate and postgraduate architecture and planning programmes at the University of Newcastle.
These positions have allowed Graham to build up extensive research, teaching and information skills across a range of policy areas, including all aspects of the built environment as well as social exclusion, culture and marketing.
