English Heritage
 http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/

English Heritage is the UK Government's statutory adviser on the historic environment. Officially known as the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission for England, English Heritage is an Executive Non-departmental Public Body sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). The English Heritage site is a vast and sprawling source of information - however, it is well designed with a logical system of menus, a convenient search facility, and effective use of colour coding. Features of the site include sections covering news, policy, publications, places to visit, events, membership, archaeology, conservation, education, the public archive (National Monuments Record), and information from EH's regional offices. An excellent site, awarded a Sapling Commendation. [GAS, 12 Nov 2007].

Other parts of the site feature up-to-date news and events listings, resources for schools, and a policy section with guidance on managing the historic environment.
