Available HOMES
 http://www.homes.org.uk/

Available HOMES is a UK-wide housing mobility and exchange service. Anyone living in permanent, self-contained accommodation and renting from a council or housing association who wants to move within the UK can register on HOMESWAP in the hope of finding a mutual home exchange. A helpful clickable map provides access (for registered users) to properties across the UK, while a worthwhile links page features other housing-related organisations and resources. [MG/RS/GAS, 2 Jun 2006].

The Housing Corporation
 http://www.housingcorp.gov.uk/

Sponsored by the UK's Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), the Housing Corporation "is responsible for investing public money in housing associations [registered social landlords] and for protecting that investment and ensuring it provides decent homes and services for residents." Sections cover news, resources (including useful housing-related links), jobs, and 'Your Home' (with information for housing association tenants and people looking for a home to rent or to buy through housing associations). The Library section holds all publications, procedures, guidance and information made available under the Corporation's FOIA Publication Scheme, with many documents available to download in PDF format. A worthwhile links page is also included. The site is well laid out and easy to navigate, and designed to be accessible to all users, with large print and keyboard shortcuts. [GAS, 30 Oct 2006].
