Beautifully executed using Flash, the firm's site seeks to demonstrate "how contemporary design can work in sympathy with any environment and lifestyle without becomming clichéd", and includes full details of the services offered as well as illustrated examples of Amok's press coverage. Other features include an extensive selection of photographs of rooms from recent projects, listed both by project and by room type; images of small architectural projects; and details of the 'Amok To Let' service, which helps clients who have 'buy to let' property and "want to make sure that it stands out from the crowd in the busy rental market". Barr Gazetas is a London-based interior design and architecture consultancy with international experience in architecture and masterplanning. The site is nicely designed and straightforward to navigate, with the information you would expect about the company, its services and its clients. One of the most useful features of the site is its excellent projects section, including many examples of Barr Gazetas' work across eight 'project sectors' - masterplans; office new build, refurbishments and fit-outs; hotels; bars and restaurants; residential and retail. Each case study is well-illustrated with high quality drawings and photographs, supplemented by appropriate annotation. Elsewhere on the site, three urban design papers, written by partner Alistair Barr, add further value. Overall, this is a rich and informative site, awarded a Sapling Commendation. Bentheim is a London-based interior designer offering what it describes as "cutting edge interior design within budget constraints for retail, restaurant, exhibition, office, hotel and some residential design". The overall aim of the website is to showcase the interior design work of David Bentheim, and it does this extremely effectively - mainly through high quality images of his work for clients such as Wagamama, the Natural History Museum and Iberdrola, and through brief textual annotations that help convey something of Bentheim's design philosophy. To complete the picture, the website also includes background information about the company, a client list, news of upcoming designs, and a page of links to useful resources. Brinkworth

The London-based interior design and architectural consultancy Brinkworth, set up in 1990, has done some very high profile work with the likes of Karen Millen across the UK, and the artist Dinos Chapman's house. The firm's website is - on first impressions - very appealing, though content is a little thin. An extensive portfolio provides good quality images of Brinkworth's work to date, covering retail, offices, exhibition, showrooms, schools and domestic projects, though the lack of annotation is disappointing. The 'about us' section includes graphics that look like they should be links, but lead nowhere - this may be a mistake, or could simply be a slightly confusing way of articulating the firm's key qualities. The many rave reviews featured on the 'press and PR' page do offer a useful insight into where Brinkworth are coming from, but overall the site is very much a visual feast rather than a source of detailed information. The site has just been finished, and feedback from the visitors of Sapling is seen as a very appropriate way of judging just how far we have come..." The site is based around what it describes as the practice's four 'creative principles' of 'Passion', 'Wit', 'Poise' and 'Drama', with 'Passion' including biographies of the Colin Williams Design team, and 'Drama' featuring a few illustrated examples of the company's work. Additional sections introduce the practice's areas of expertise, namely interior architecture, architectural services, project management and graphic design. Designed using Flash, the site certainly meets its objectives, successfully creating a rich and interesting user experience. The former covers the firm's architectural, landscape and graphic design work, with extensive illustrated coverage of its GIS, visualisation and other services, and a well-annotated and illustrated portfolio section showcasing previous projects. Meanwhile, the recruitment section includes details of available vacancies and gives candidates the opportunity to apply online. When Sapling last visited the site we commented that accessibility would be improved if the text was displayed normally rather than being embedded as images, so it's really positive to see that this has now been changed. With a design that is simple but quite functional, Adrienne Chinn has created an impressive site - an engaging showcase for her work as well as an important interior design resource.
