The Ashdell Campaign
 --NEW URL-- http://www.ashdell.org.uk/

This site, by Sapling Editor, Graham Soult, concerns itself with Ashdell, a listed Victorian villa in the Sheffield suburb of Broomhill. In the late 1990s, Ashdell's garden and other nearby greenspaces were at risk of being sold for housing development. This site provides an archive of the successful campaign to prevent this development, and addresses the many planning issues raised by the proposals. The site also features a number of good quality photographs of Ashdell and its garden. [GAS, 11 Oct 2006].

Judy Woods - Save Our Heritage Site
 http://www.judywoods.dial.pipex.com/

Judy Woods - a place not a person - is a 40 hectare area of woodland in Bradford and adjoining Calderdale, which local campaigners are trying to get nominated as a local nature reserve. According to the site, its purpose "is to let people know about our campaign group who are fighting to protect and preserve our land and heritage not just for now but for future generations", featuring vast amounts of information and argument. Copiously illustrated sections cover the background and history of Judy Woods, public rights of way, the area's wide diversity of wildlife (mushrooms and fungi, butterflies and moths, mammals, trees, insects, spiders, beetles, birds, and amphibians and molluscs), forthcoming events, and proposed developments that the campaigners believe will impact upon the woods. An excellent links page is also provided. On the downside, the site uses the dreaded combination of yellow and green text on a black background, but this only slightly detracts from what is a highly impressive effort overall.
