The Désert de Retz - Racine de Monville Home Page
 http://www.geocities.com/rwkenyon/

The Racine de Monville Home Page describes itself as the world's first website devoted to the Désert de Retz and its creator, François Racine de Monville (1734-1797). The site is highly informative, with lots of illustrations and links - visitors can read about Monville's adventurous life, view photographs of his remarkable folly garden, and learn more about France and gardens in general. Essential British Gardens
 http://www.gardenarena.co.uk/

Essential British Gardens is a well-maintained digest of some of the finest gardens and arboretums throughout Britain. Entries can be browsed by region, although the definition (South Central England, anyone?) and articulation (North Lincolnshire is part of 'North East England', for example) of the regions is rather bizarre - it would be better just to stick to the standard UK regions used by everyone else. However, a search facility is also provided, so finding the garden you want is not too complex. Some of the descriptions are more full than others, but many of the entries do have useful links to related websites, photographs, or other information provided elsewhere. [GAS, 11 Oct 2006].

Glasgow Parks - Landscape & Architecture
 http://www.glasgowparks.webeden.co.uk/

Created by Susan Gallagher, this site is born from what she describes as her "love of Glasgow's parks and in particular the abundance of architectural details, especially those less noticable or hidden features". The site sets out to celebrate some of the lesser known landscape details and architectural marvels found in parks such as Pollok and Rouken Glen, and is beautifully designed with lots of good quality photographs. Explanatory text is a little thin on the ground, but hopefully more written content will be added as the site continues to grow. [GAS, 11 Oct 2006].

Historic Parks and Gardens of Wales
 --NEW URL-- http://www.gardensofwales.org.uk/

This billingual website (in English and Welsh) lists a selection of what it calls "the most accessible and rewarding gardens in Wales", together with a brief description, directions for getting there and conditions of entry. The information about the 92 gardens is clearly laid out, although the overall look of the site is a little unprofessional. Some of the gardens' entries are illustrated with good quality photographs - hopefully more images will be added in due course. Unfortunately, the site claims to have been last updated in 2003, so there is no guarantee that the opening times and other information given are correct. [GAS, 9 Sep 2006].

Pine Lodge Gardens & Nursery
 http://www.pine-lodge.co.uk/

Ray and Shirley Clemo's 30-acre Pine Lodge estate, in its mild climate of mid-Cornwall, comprises several themed gardens and also holds the National Collection of grevilleas. There is a wide range of some 5500 plants, all of which are labelled. In addition to rhododendrons, magnolias and camellias, familiar in Cornish gardens, there are Mediterranean and southern-hemisphere plants grown for all-year-round interest, herbaceouse borders, a Japanese garden, water features with cascades, and a lake that houses black swans and ducks. Recently redesigned, Pine Lodge's website includes descriptions and many photographs of the various gardens, plus details of its plant nursery and a page of Cornish and garden-related links.
