Good practice in regeneration sought

The British Urban Regeneration Association (BURA) has launched its 2007 Awards for Best Practice in Regeneration.
For the second year running the scheme will be supported by key organisations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as well as England, to further increase the number, quality and diversity of entries.
The 2007 Awards for Best Practice in Regeneration are being sponsored by English Partnerships, Scottish Enterprise, the Welsh Assembly Government Department for Enterprise, Innovation and Networks and the Department for Social Development in Northern Ireland. Regeneration & Renewal will also be helping to promote the winners as official media partner.
The awards, established in 1992, help to define excellence in regeneration. The rigorous assessment process, together with BURA's commitment to inspire and guide the evolution of regeneration through the promotion of best practice, remains at the heart of these prestigious awards.
Speaking about the launch, Jon Ladd, BURA's Chief Executive told Sapling.info:
"Over the past year BURA has been exploring ways to improve and expand its Best Practice programme. The support from these key national organisations will help us share 'UK trans-national' best practice.
"Our aim is to celebrate the diversity, scale and enormous range of people and organisations involved in regenerating communities across the UK in the public, private and voluntary sectors."
