sorry for my rubbish 1st message.1st time on a PC. Last week (Dec 25)a man was taking the end off the beatiful golden seats.The bit that looks slightly egyptian. Do the owners have permission to sell off the interior features?It seems criminal. I have so many happy memories of taking my daughter to this cinema and would love to see it kept. It would make a fantastic music venue,to replace the mayfair, another lost builing.Ironic.I moved to newcastle 10 years ago and am shocked by the amount it has changed. we have to move with the times, but the town seems to be loosing all its character and unique buildings. we need to learn from the mistake in the 70s off the loss of old eldon square. newcastle will become like milton keynes if we dont keep fighting for such beatiful old building like the odean
