I have spoken to several city councillors. They say that no plans have been submitted for the Paramount site as yet. The large NCP multi-storey car park site in Newgate Street (opposite the NEW Odeon) has also been suggested as a good site for the Selfridges store.

The councillors I spoke to didn't seem to know much about the Paramount and its historical significance. They seemed very interested to hear about the former Paramounts in the USA which are now successful theatre/concert venues.

The Paramount is a small part of a huge site which is up for redevelopment. It should be saved as the centrepiece of this development. I think we might be pushing at an open door.
