I was intrigued to find your site as my late grandfather, H A (Bert)Freeman, was once manager of the Paramount Theatre in Newcastle, and as a child staying with grandparents had one or two special welcomes to a show. Over the last 3 years or so I visted my son at Newcastle University, and took a look inside the cinema while it was still open. I got told off by the manager for taking a photo in the foyer (security!), so didn't stay long. Unfortunately I didn't get to see another film there. I often wondered if any records still existed from my grandfather's day, but I didn't investigate before the place was closed. I assume everthing would have been disposed of. I wish I'd tried to see where his office might have been. Anyway, now that my son has finished at Newcastle, I am trying to catch up with latest.
