The two cinemas, Paramount(Odeon) and Tyneside are directly opposite each other on Pilgrim Street, just south of a T-junction with Blackett St. The Metro station is about 150m to the west on Blackett Street. Hope this explains what you see on the map. The reason that the Tyneside is thriving in comparison is that it has been a successful art-house cinema for many years whereas the Paramount remained part of the mainstream Odeon chain and closed after a new Odeon was built up the road. It has however been used once since its closure for a film festival which I believe was in conjunction with the Tyneside cinema.
