The problem with turning the paramount into a theatre or live venue, is that Newcastle already has a venue for everthing! The opera house for rock concerts, theare royal for pro-dramatics, playhouse for amateur dramatics, city hall for classical and mixed concerts etc..... Ideally of course, the tyneside cinema should move in to supplement it's existing building!
