Using it as a music venue would work well as an interim measure towards a full restoration. It would have to be turned back to a single Auditorium which would not be a trivial task. However, removable seating in the stalls works at the Royal Court in Liverpool, a large 1930s Theatre in full time rock use. They put the seats in for calmer shows!
