Regeneration Exchange
 http://www.regenerationexchange.org/

Covering the North East of England, the Regeneration Exchange aims to "increase the capacity of regeneration partnerships, partner groups and agencies to deliver initiatives more effectively through developing networks and structures for sharing information, exchanging skills and promoting good practice". The North East is the first UK region to support a project of this kind, steered by a management group made up of practitioners from regeneration initiatives across the region. Neatly presented and well organised, the site includes an info and research section, an up-to-date events calendar, a well-used discussion board (hosted at renewal.net), an excellent 'jargon buster' and a helpful links page. Overall, this site is an excellent entry point for information - and exchange - about North East regeneration, but with value as a resource to the wider regeneration community. Awarded a Sapling Commendation. [GAS, 7 Jul 2006].

Scottish Urban Regeneration Forum
 http://www.scotregen.co.uk/

Scottish Urban Regeneration Forum (SURF) describes itself as "an independent regeneration and inclusion network, sharing good practice, information and discussion so as to help shape practice, policy and opinion. It aims to stimulate debate in Scotland about community regeneration; to promote and disseminate examples of current practice; and to achieve a higher status for community regeneration on Scotland's political agenda." The recently redesigned site is greatly improved, with an attractive and modern interface. Features include background about SURF, an up-to-date events listing, and a 'network' section with membership information and links. The Knowledge Centre is particularly good, with event reports, downloadable publications, and details of SURF's annual awards for best practice. [GAS, 6 Jun 2006].
