Written by Adrian Welch, like its Edinbugh Architecture sibling, Glasgow Architecture is an excellent starting point for anyone interested in the city's contemporary architecture and architects. Features of the site include a historical introduction to Glasgow by Johnny Rodger, up-to-date news and events, a directory of Glasgow architects, and a good range of links to related books and websites. The highlight of the site is probably its Tours section; 'Historic Glasgow' features "the best Glasgow buildings of the past", while 'Glasgow Tours' covers "the best Glasgow buildings of the last three decades". While the former is strong on historical background and detail, the latter features some excellent images. [GAS, 4 Oct 2005].

The company has established a series of specialist 'microsites' targeted at certain discipline sectors; accessible from the home page, these include architecture, construction, building services and civil/structural recruitment, with information on specific jobs easy to view and well laid-out. Serving the US states of NJ, PA and DE, Four Seasons Roofing & Siding describe themselves as "having over a quarter of a century of service to the industry". As well as detailing the services offered, the company's website aims to be "a complete information centre for the consumer considering the services of a roofing, siding, window replacement or ventilation contractor". Sure enough, the site does include much useful information - issues addressed include down payments to contractors, moisture and condensation, ice and water shield usage, and a history of the different types of siding. While benefiting from some good quality photographs, the content is let down a little by the design of the site; there are too many animated images, and the layout could be more professional. Nevertheless, the effort to combine information on the company's services with worthwhile resource content is admirable, even if it is not a complete success. [GAS, 4 Oct 2005].

At Sapling's time of review, the site claims to have crawled 50,000 corporate webpages, and found more than 7,000 jobs. Users can browse the available vacancies by US state, and once registered, can post resumes, setup automated email alerts and access direct employer job listings. [GAS, 4 Oct 2005].

Part of the Transport for London website, London Trams brings together information about the existing Tramlink service (replacing the separate Croydon Tramlink website), the proposed West London and Cross River Tram Schemes, and possible Tramlink extensions. Presently, Croydon Tramlink operates 24 trams over 28 kilometres (18 miles) of track in Greater London, with trams serving the centre of Croydon and radiating out from there to Wimbledon, New Addington, Elmers End and Beckenham Junction. The site includes useful background information such as Tramlink company information and a reports archive, together with maps, timetables, links and other information for passengers. Though its appearance is rather rudimentary and text heave, the LIH is nonetheless a useful resource, with lots of information, including booklists, teaching materials and links.
