Reality Hacking
 http://www.realityhacking.com/

The (unnamed) artist responsible for 'Reality Hacking' writes that "by taking a perspective usually limited to looking at art in the museum to the everyday world I interact with existing public situations. The consequences of these encounters are interventions or temporary installations which are often abandoned. In this process the artist subjugates himself to the act of perception by being anonymous." This regularly updated site illustrates these installations - realised, unrealised and proposed - with some fine and evocative images. In doing so, Reality Hacking achieves what it sets out to do - challenging our traditional perceptions of place in a manner which is both witty and thought-provoking. A wholly enjoyable site to visit, awarded a Sapling Commendation. [GAS, 4 Jul 2010].

Parks & Gardens UK
 http://www.parksandgardens.ac.uk/

Parks & Gardens UK describes itself as "the leading online resource dedicated to historic parks and gardens across the whole of the United Kingdom", and has grown out of the old United Kingdom Database of Historic Parks and Gardens (UKPG) - Sapling.info's very first Site of the Month back in November 1999. The current site is elegant and appealing, as well as being a superb resource - visitors can use the 'Places & People' function to search for records and view images of more than 6,500 parks and gardens, as well as of the people who created and worked in them. There's also a very good introduction to garden history, up-to-date news and events coverage, and a resource area with additional images, maps, plans, and downloadable oral histories about life in and around historic parks and gardens. This site is a must for anyone interested in landscape architecture or historic gardens, and is deservedly awarded a Sapling Commendation. [GAS, 4 Jul 2010].

ArchINFORM - International Architectural Database
 http://www.archinform.net/

archINFORM describes itself as "the largest online database for international architecture"; certainly, it continues to grow, and now features over 27,000 built and unrealised projects from numerous architects and planners. The database is available in English or German versions, and can be searched by person, location, keywords or text query. Its coverage of 20th century architecture is especially strong, but this is in all respects a well designed and impressively comprehensive resource. Awarded a Sapling Commendation. The Urban Conservation Glossary
 http://www.trp.dundee.ac.uk/research/glossary/glossary.html

Based at the University of Dundee's School of Town and Regional Planning, the Glossary describes itself as "an attempt to impart some of the range, complexity, and enormous interest and satisfaction that can be found in conservation work, going beyond a simple catalogue of terms". This is an impressively comprehensive resource - there are eighty entries under the letter 'A' alone, for example - and a must for anyone interested in urban conservation. Many entries are illustrated (using some excellent photographs), and cross-referenced to other entries using hyperlinks. This site was Sapling.info's Site of the Month back in January 2000 - a decade on, it seems fitting to award it that status again. Awarded a Sapling Commendation. [GAS, 4 Jul 2010].
