It is a not-for-profit registered company which, according to the website, "exists to harness the potential of information and communications technology for the benefit of all". International Development Network (IDN)

The International Development Network (IDN) has been set by the Royal Town Planning Institute to provide a focus and an information resource for planners with an interest in planning and international development. The IDN has evolved from the inter-disciplinary International Development Forum (IDF), set up in 1989 to bring together professionals involved in all aspects of international development. Over its 15 year lifetime, the IDF organised a series of successful and informative briefings on a wide variety of topics, reports of which are provided on the new site. The site also features the monthly IDN bulletin, an events listing (though currently empty), and a members' area. [GAS, 14 Aug 2005].

The NextStep site has been designed to provide Minnesota Sustainable Communities Network (MnSCN) members and others with information, access to resources, opportunities for networking, and inspiration on the topic of sustainable communities. The site is certainly an impressive and useful resource, with an excellent and up-to-date range of sustainability-related resources, calendar events, and job listings. Users can also browse the information by topic, with sections covering Agriculture, Buildings, Business, Communities, Ecosystems, Education, Energy, Individual Choices, Land Use, Statewide/Global, Transportation and Water. In summary, this is a rich and worthwhile site, awarded a Sapling Commendation. [GAS, 29 Apr 2006].
