The Architecture Centre Network
 http://www.architecturecentre.net/

The Architecture Centre Network "coordinates, supports and advances the work of architecture and related centres in the UK", seeking to "secure greater knowledge, access, participation and influence, at all levels, in the creation of an excellent built environment for all". This attractive and well-organised site includes links to all the UK architecture centres from its front page, together with up-to-date news and job details. Elsewhere, a resources section provides a good range of file downloads and related links, while a forum (free registration needed) provides a welcome interactive element. [GAS, 9 Mar 2006].

International City Planners Network (ICPN)
 http://www.city-planners-network.org/

Founded in 2004, the goal of the International City Planners Network (ICPN) is to "help practicing planners develop and implement creative solutions to real-world planning problems by facilitating contacts with planners throughout the world". However, the Network welcomes all types of planners and people interested in planning, including urban designers, architects, landscape architects, social service planners, open space planners, economic development planners, environmental planners, infrastructure and transportation planners. From its home page onwards, the Network's sense of friendliness successfully pervades its website, with the display of a random member's photograph on the front page adding a personal touch. Once inside, visitors can use the 'Find a Planner' function, view a series of sections designed to help travelling planners learn more about specific featured cities (currently Paris, San Francsico, Vienna and Zurich) or browse a list of upcoming conferences. The home page also includes an excellent list of links to planning-related organisations and journals. [GAS, 8 Jul 2006].

UDAL - Urban Design Alliance
 http://www.udal.org.uk/

UDAL is a network of professional and campaigning organisations that was formed in 1997 to promote the value of good urban design. According to the site, "UDAL's organisations bring together over half a million people who design, plan, manage and campaign for better places. Their day-to-day decisions shape the urban environment. UDAL is working to help them become more effective". Features include a useful projects and programmes section, with PDF documents to download, and an up-to-date events listing. Though a small site, what content there is benefits from being neatly and attractively presented. [GAS, 24 Mar 2009].
